In a time of change and revitalization of the City of Bellingham’s downtown, the Bellingham Arts Commission is excited to host VELoCITY - An Outdoor Art Show highlighting key pedestrian corridors downtown. These carefully selected sites will reach a large numbers of visitors as well as local residents. Proud of the abundance of world-class sculpture at Western Washington University and Big Rock Garden, the Bellingham Arts Commission is producing this show to emphasize the power of art in public spaces.

Arts and the Environment: A Dialogue

Panelists: Daniel Friedman, Speight Jenkins, Maggie Walker, John Sutton, Ben Beres, Zac Culler

Seattle Art Museum and Cascade Land Conservancy will co-host a panel discussion on the common interests of the arts and environmental communities in creating vibrant urban spaces and conserving critical landscapes.  Why should environmentalists care? What are the near term priorities for both the arts and the environment?  What are the potential benefits of joint efforts and what approaches should be explored?  Join us as we consider these questions and next steps.

SuttonBeresCuller have been selected to develop artwork for one of three Seattle Streetcar stations: Lake Union, Terry and Thomas streets, and Westlake Hub at Olive Way.
